Free Services Available in Santa Ana

Low-income men and women who qualify can take advantage of many free services provided by the Advance Urgent Medical Group. The California Legislature charges the Office of Family Planning (OFP) to make comprehensive family planning medical assistance, knowledge, and services to all California citizens who are childbearing age. The Family Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment program, also known as Family PACT, is administered by the OFP.

Services provided by this program include:

  • Birth control pills
  • Family planning
  • Sexually transmitted disease testing
  • Annual pap smear

A wide array of services is provided by the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) to Medi-Cal pregnant women. Such services are provided from conception until 60 days following delivery. Along with standard obstetric services, enhanced services are also available in the areas of health education, psychosocial, and nutrition.

Some of the services offered under this program include:

  • Pre-natal care
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Ultrasound examinations
  • WIC referral-see below
  • 60 days of post-partum care
  • Referral to obstetric and gynecologic care

Federal grants are provided to the States by the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) for health care referrals, nutrition education, and supplemental foods for economically disadvantaged women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. In addition, non-breastfeeding postpartum women as well as infants and children through the age of five who may be at nutritional risk may also qualify.

Through the Every Woman Counts (EWC) program, the following services are provided:

  • Mammograms
  • Clinical breast exams
  • Pelvic exams and Pap tests
  • Sexually transmitted disease testing
